It was a pleasure and privilege for Young Enterprise Scotland CEO and YES Works Director Geoff leask to be invited to meet with Michael Sheen when he was on a visit to Scotland as a part of his learning in his new role as Social Enterprise UK patron.
Michael came to Scotland as part of a long journey to seek out examples of good ideas, to meet with others who have developed and delivered bold partnerships in the social economy, in tackling poverty, in making radical ideas happen and to take those ideas back to Wales and to stimulate wider debate across the U.K. on the type of society and economy we want.
In many ways, Scotland leads the way!
Michael recently supported Social Investment Scotland with their Social Enterprise Academy partnership with Asda, which was also seen as a great learning opportunity for Michael whilst also being able to shine a greater spotlight on the social businesses.
It was great to be able to share the experiences that Young Enterprise Scotland has had in developing our own Social Enterprise, YES Works Ltd, that gives sustainable employment opportunities to young disadvantaged people and how we have progressed in the creation of a Social Enterprise hub housing another three social enterprises
Our Vision is for Scotland to be a place where all young people are given the opportunity to have a rewarding future in work and life - no matter where they start
Our Mission is to inspire & equip all young people to learn, develop and reach their full potential through enterprise.
